At the heart of Warrane’s ethos is a view that man is a spiritual being. Warrane offers interested residents the opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith. Those who are interested can attend talks by the Chaplain and staff, retreats and other activities carried out in the College. The College chapel is open each day and features regular activities such as Mass and the weekly Chaplain’s Talk. Mass is held on Sunday at 5.00 p.m. a priest is available for the confession from 4.30 p.m. There are also presentations given on topics such as ethics, virtues and leadership. All these activities are completely voluntary.
The spiritual care of the College is entrusted to Opus Dei an institution of the Catholic Church, founded in 1928 by Saint Josemaria Escriva. The aim of Opus Dei is to spread the message that God invites all Christians to seek holiness in and through their ordinary work, family life and social relations. Saint Josemaria Escriva was a Spanish priest canonised by Saint John Paul II in 2002. St Josemaria took a personal interest in the development of Warrane College.
